ARP Pro-Soloist Presset analog monophonic synthesizer 1 200.00 U.S.Dollars. Pro-Soloist was introduced in 1972 as an improved replacement for ARP Soloist, later (in 1977) it was replaced by Pro-DGX. The purpose of the instrument has remained unchanged: it must complement the main polyphonic synthesizer to create solo parts. The ARP 2600 began production in 1971. As an engineer, Pearlman had little understanding of the music industry or its potential audience. He felt the best market for synthesizers would be music departments at schools and universities, and designed the instrument to be easy to use for this reason. David Friend and musician Roger Powell toured the US demonstrating the 2600 to various musicians. Jun 08, 2009 ARP Pro Soloist Software Synth For Mac, PC. The AM Music Technology Pro SoloVst virtual instrument reproduces the sound of the classic monophonic analog synthesizer from the early 1970’s, the ARP Pro Soloist. According to the develoeprs, the sound engine of the Pro SoloVst is a software emulation of the real analog algorithms implemented.
The magic of software virtual instruments ! Recreating known piece of hardware, emulating famous synth, trying to capture the spirit of a machine, attempting to copy the sound and feeling of an instrument!
Here’s a compilation of all the articles about free VST plugins that try to emulate the most famous synths, plus links to the freeware plugins that are the only one to recreate a kind of machine (they didn’t get an article). Below is a list of best free VST emulations.
Here you can find free virtual alternatives to the classic analog synths :
MiniMoog, Arp 2600, Arp Odyssey, Synthi VCS3, Obeirheim OB-X
There are also your favorite FM / Vector Synthesis / “digital” synths :
Yamaha DX7, Prophet VS, PPG Wave, Ensoniq SQ80
The usual techno/trance suspects are here too :
Roland TB303, Alpha Juno, Juno 60, JP-8000, Korg Mono / Poly, Clavia Nord Lead 2
We did not forgot the Jazzy/Funky/Rock famous instruments :
Fender Rhodes electric piano, Hammond B3 organ, Farfisa combo organ, Hohner Clavinet, Wurlitzer E-piano, Mellotron & Arp Solina.
And even the antic Theremin + some funky toys : Speak and Spell & Stylophone.
This is work in progress, i’ll add free VSTi plugin if we find some new free recreation of well known synthesizers.
All the VSTi in this list are freeware.

There are no external presets in the ProsoloVst and there can't be.
The ARP Pro Soloist was not really a 'synth', it wans a concept between 'organ' and 'synth'. It was design as an improvement of the ARP Soloist, with the addition of some features to variate the play. There was only one oscillator and a very basic filter just to adjust a brilliance on the sound. All the 30 presets of the ARP Pro Soloist were directly made by the electronic devices without any possibilities to directly modify them. For some presets the oscillator provided a pulse and for the other presets it provided a sawtooth. There was an ADSR envelope available for the filter and an AR envelope available for the amplitude. That's all. The shape of the 30 sounds were made by an internal band pass filter, with no access to the musician. All the waveforms of the oscillator and the filter characteristics were programmed in a ROM (one of the first uses of digital memory in a cheap popular music instrument). So there was no manual adjustment for all theses parameters. A second internal electronic board was dedicated to the effects adjustable by an aftertouch sensibility on each key, these effects were the vibrato, a curious kind of growl, a wow (a kind of wahwah, a very basic LFO, the volume of the sound at the output of the VCA, the brilliance (the cutoff) of the filter, and a pitch bend. That's all. Some of these effects were available also via a knob. Period. And all these parameters were available to the musician by some switches or sliders only during his play, there wasn't any possibility to program anything previously and nothing to memorize.

For the sounds : 1 oscillator having 2 basic waveforms and 30 fixed sounds provided by an internal bandpass driven by the internal ROM. That's all.
And for the pleasure of playing: one VCF, one VCA, an envelope with ADSR for the filter and AR for the VCA, and an aftertouch to modulate a few these elements. That's all.
It was a concept in the middle between organ and very simplified synth.

No new preset can't be imaginable for that synth, the original hardware as long as its VST emulation. It was a 'organ/synth' fixed for the eternity with its limitations. That's the reason why ARP made several years later (in 1977) a new model called the Pro/DG with a bit more features available, but above all they made in 1974 the Explorer I... which had really a feature to program several user presets and the ability to store them.
All these instruments are called 'synths' but in fact they are somewhat a concept between 'organ' and 'synth'. They were very popular because they were very simple and immediately usable on stage with awesome sounds made for leads that came in addition to the real synths (Axxe, Odyssey...) and to the String ensembles (Solina...)
And the VST ProsoloVst reproduced exactly the 30 sounds of the original hardware of the Pro Soloist and the features that were present in it for the pleasure of playing. Not less not more.
I you want I can send you the service manuals of all that.
